Although Britons take an average of 37 million trips abroad, taking a break from technology while on holiday is not as popular of a concept. According to new research, British holidaymakers take an average of three gadgets on holiday with them, and the value of their devices totals approximately £20 billion. In fact, 13 per cent of travellers are more worried about losing their smartphones than their passports.
Despite their worries, 66 per cent of holidaymakers don’t take advantage of hotel safes. And for the 10 per cent of holidaymakers that break or lose their mobile devices, 29 per cent drop them or crack their screens, 26 per cent are victims of theft and 23 per cent suffer water damage.
If you’re attached to your mobile gadgets, consider single trip or annual multi-trip insurance cover that can be customised to protect the replacement costs of your devices.
